    The greenfield Next.js frontend for a charity donation platform, and I led its architecture: 40+ accessible components on Base UI, shared theme tokens, 60+ Storybook stories.

    I led the migration of four production apps into one Nx monorepo: React 16 to 19, npm to pnpm, and the React Compiler switched on. Then the payoff: chunk splitting, Brotli and WebP to cut what users download.

    The multi-step form engine charities use to set up fundraiser, peer-to-peer, auction and event-ticketing pages. I built it once as a reusable framework, so each page type is just its own set of steps.

My approach

  • Component architecture

    I’d rather solve a UI problem once, as a headless component with a small, typed API, so every team gets the answer for free and nobody has to rebuild it.

  • Performance

    I start with the profiler and Core Web Vitals. Bundle analysis, chunk splitting, Brotli, how images and fonts load: each fix comes from something I measured first.

  • Accessibility

    I work out the WCAG semantics, keyboard support and ARIA while I’m still writing the component. That means grouped inputs, errors a screen reader announces, and a focus order that makes sense.

  • Technical leadership

    I work with client teams overseas as well as the team here. I give estimates, review code and mentor the newer engineers, and I’d rather write a clear technical proposal than call a meeting.

Hi, I’m Truong, a frontend engineer in Ho Chi Minh City.

I tend to end up with the work nobody puts in a demo: shaving time off the first paint, turning animations down for people who’ve asked their OS for less motion, and making sure a whole flow works without a mouse.

    2023 — Present

    • Owned the frontend (React, TypeScript, Nx) for four apps in one monorepo, used by admins, charities, corporate partners and donors.
    • Led the move to React 19, Nx, pnpm and the React Compiler, plus the bundle and asset work that followed.
    • Claude Certified Architect — Foundations (Anthropic).
    • Three-time winner of the company engineering contest and project hackathons.

    Software Engineer

    2021 — 2023

    • Shipped donation button, donation matching and auction product surfaces across builder, admin and public-facing pages.
    • Migrated the test suite from Karma/Enzyme to Jest.
    • Upgraded the build from Webpack 4 to 5.

  • Act Brain Vietnam

    Web Developer

    2019 — 2020

    • Built interactive course and lesson interfaces for an e-learning platform against a PHP/Zend backend.
    • Tested every change in five browsers, Internet Explorer included.
